FOURM

Fourm is now undertaking work on the Archisonics project, a 20 page, 7″x7″ soft bound book, with texts, images, and CD by FOURM, and specially invited guest artist, Andy Graydon. Due out in May 2008.

FOUR STATES is a highly limited edition of 100 copies that acts as a supplement, and promotional edition, introducing the Archisonics series. This is a must for intelligent collectors, and lovers of the sound/architecture crossover. FOUR STATES includes a beautifully presented folded card insert, with 8cm CDR, in an opaque vinyl wallet, a worthy addition to any collection.

“The division of sounds plays out in terms of approach – The FOURM piece appears to be involved in searching out a language or code structure, the formal elements of a built space. While Graydon’s, with it’s more ambient drift and reverb-ness, feels like it’s about the space itself, an evocation of a phenomenal response to a volume of space.

Both pieces seem to be searching out a poetics of space or spaces, and how sound often voices that poetics, something that is latent or immobilized in architectural materials, but vivified with the encounter with sound in an aural architecture.” (adapted from a text by Andy Graydon)
